On Sunday I raced my first quad race. I rode the mud and snow race in Evansville PA. I rode a 2006 Polaris Predator. Really fun little quad I have to say!!! I was surprised to see that there were about 10 people in my class. I wasn't real scared to be honest I was excited and very confident. Once the yellow flag went down I just hit the gas and went. I was behind a young kid who was slowing me down and eventually got in front of him. I passed some people here and there but for the most part everyone was pretty spread out.

The track was 3 miles I think and I only raced for 50 minutes. I only made it around the track like 4 or 5 times. My 1st lap I was taking a little bit slower so I could get a feel for it. It seemed easy enough I went faster and faster. On my 2nd lap I already had to go to the side and take my goggles off because of all the mud. I passed at least 2 people that either ran out of gas or got stuck in the mud. On my 3rd lap I was in the woods and someone was stuck in the middle on the path that wasn't very big to begin with so I couldn't cut around him, I had to look fast for another way to get around and I did, but fell in the process. I got right back up and went again because I knew that I lost some time from the fall.
My last lap was easy by then I knew the whole track and I was just going to gas it the whole way. Still some people blocked paths but I found easy ways around them. When I got to the end and saw the checkered flag I went right back to the trailer. I was so muddy that the guy who was counting the laps couldn't see my number and had to come up and ask me. My mom and uncle came up shortly and they started taking pictures of course. I felt like I was carrying a trillion pounds of mud so all I wanted to do was get changed. I had like 5 pounds of mud in my hoody sweat shirt. My hair had mud in it, my boots that are like 3 or 4 pounds to beginning with now were like 7lbs each! And my quad was white in the beginning and covered with mud in the end
Since my sweat shirt was muddy I couldn't wear it so my mom went to go to buy me a new one but they didn't take credit cards and she wasn't carrying any cash on her, but I ended getting on for free when my mom told them about my sweat shirt. I was happy to be clean and dry. Then I went to go see what place I came in and when they said 3rd I was like wow and my whole face lit up. I got a nice plaque. When we went to leave we went to turn on my quad to get it in to the trailer but since I raced hard I used all the gas! They had to push it in the trailer lucky it was kind of light. But all together my day was great I now that I will definitely want to keep racing because it was so much fun.
So in the end I had a good day and can't wait for the next race.
