On Sunday, February 21, 2010 I rode in the Evansville Harescramble race in Pennsylvania. My quad has been getting modifications for the past two or three weeks. So I'm not totally used to it yet. I'm still getting a feel for it. I was very excited to see how it would run. It felt like forever before my race because I didn't race until 3 O'clock pm. I got to the starting line and felt very confident. I started in 3rd right from the starting line. I didn't mind though! I rode not even half way when all the sudden my quad just shut off.
I was confused at first and then tried to turn it back on but in wasn't working. My uncle came shortly and fixed it. I rode the whole track and then my quad turned off again. It had something to do with all the water and mud. My quad sucked in way to much water and mud and wouldn't run. When my uncle came again we tried and tried to turn it on again but I wouldn't start. I was upset because I was looking forward to this race for the whole week before.
We finally gave up trying to start it. My quad had to get pulled out because I couldn't race anymore. Since I rode the track once I still placed. There were only two other races and then me. As long as I made one lap I still came in third place. When I went to get my prize the woman at the stand was surprised to see me done already. I told her about my quad and that I definitely came in third. I got my plaque and went back to the trailer.
All in all I raced and did my best, got third and was happy that I still placed. Can't wait till March 7, for my final winter race of the season.
