Erik takes 3rd in Vet B and 1st in Utilitys

After my last round here I decided to leave the wolverine 450 at home.. My tried and true wolverine 350 replaced it.. While not as powerful as the 450, she seems nimbler, and has held up well for being a 10 year old machine. I prepped the YFZ and Predator as well, and loaded all the quads up the night before.. I have to admit, I was a bit nervous, I had made a LOT of modifications to the 90 the week before...

Well, there was more snow for sure at this round, and by the end of the day the mud would be flying everywhere.. Alot of snow melting made for a very wet course. The morning race was on the YFZ, and she felt pretty good. I had new tires on for this round, and I could immediately feel the difference. I was hooking up in the turns better, and pulling up the hills more. Pretty standard race, no major issues, pushed hard and managed to keep third place in Vet B..

In my second race on the Wolverine I would snag another easy first.. It does stink when you are the only one in your class, but I step up my game and start with the sports. Well, with all that snow, and my 4WD, I beat almost the entire "C" line to the first corner.. So much for the sport competition! I have to say, the 350 felt so much better than the 450.. She handles better, I like the fact that it IS a shifter model (auto clutch though). I pushed her hard and finished on the lead lap. Gotta love it when a 4x4 hangs with the sport guys!

My neice raced last, and I missed the start of her race because I was still changing from racing the 4x4. Sadly, her race was cut short by some deep puddles when her quad sucked in a good amount of water. Lesson learned for the next race, she was a good sport about it, and in the end still managed a lap and held on to third in her class.. Not the best day for her, but she got the points and hung in there like a trooper!
