9th place at 7-11-09 NECC
Not the best day for me.. My holeshot was pretty good, I was 3rd to the corner (only the 800's were in front of me since we go off with utes) and my first lap wasn't so bad. Somewhere on my second lap I managed to start getting flats, and by the end of lap 2 I had 2 right side flats (thank god for beadlocks) and managed to go over the bars once. Lap 3 was tough with the flats (no spares brought this time), and managed to go over the bars once and roll it once too (hit a rock on the right side, it bounced me left and my left tire just drove right up a tree).. Finish the 3rd lap and I'm feeling beaten, but still got it in me. Problem was one of those over the bars episodes pushed my bars forward, re-adjusted my throttle, and I couldn't position it right again. Cramps from hell!! (Today my right wrist is sore and swollen, I'm hoping its just muscular, I broke that wrist once already racing in 2007).
On my 4th lap I'm in the rock garden, smack dab in front of a sweeper and we both hear "CRACK". Well, I try to turn left and go straight into the woods. WTF I'm thinking.. Hop off to see I snapped a tie-rod end clear off the tie rod. Well, the sweeper jumps in and helps me make repairs so I don't need to be towed out, but that took at least 20 minutes as I saw many riders pass by us 2x. I manage to cross-thread just 2 threads on, just enough to steer (though alignment is HORRIBLE now) and call it a day. One more run through that rock garden and I would have popped that tie-rod end off another time, leaving me stranded and needing a tow out.

Finished 9th in class, which is a huge setback on my overall goal, but thats racing. Just need to work harder next time (which is setting up to be a blitzkrieg day, its my nephews 1st b-day on the 8/8 and I plan on racing CT in the morning and speeding down to south jersey for dinner..

Thanks to the NECC for a great event. I loved the track, even as rough as it was (it pays to upgrade your suspension guys!) Things are running smoother and smoother each event, and even the sound check went smooth and was quick.

Met a few new guys there too (you lurkers know who you are) and some old friends there as well. Seems like QB riders are making an appearance in force!
